Summer of Assemblies

What is a Peoples Movement Assembly?

The People’s Movement Assembly process is a tool used by organizers to build collective action plans, practice governance, and grow our infrastructure. People’s Movement Assemblies are used to increase involvement from diverse people, develop leadership within our movements, help us take action in response to a problem or set of problems, and the PMA builds social movement power and constructs plans for governance.

What is the Summer of Assemblies?

The Summer of Assemblies is a regional call to action for members to organize people’s movement assemblies in their local communities leading up to the SMA 10 convening happening in September. On the streets, in your communities, and across the region we have been preparing for this season of connection, building, and resisting!

How Can I Be A Part of The Action?

During the next two months we invite you as Southern based organizers to gather your people, discuss your frontline issues, and develop a synthesis that includes your visions and strategies towards transforming your communities.
